Acne are like the teenage curse for many, and for some, they might tend to occur throughout the life. They are horrible looking dirt and pustules which make one look bad and want to hide.

It is essential however to understand how these acne problems originate and what is he real cause for them. This might b able to understand the process of treating them better and would enable one in having a clear and beautiful skin to boast of.

Causes of Acne / Pimples

One of the main reasons for acne is the oily skin. The oil tends to attract dirt and grime on the face, and this in turn blesses the skin with these filthy impurities in the form of pimples.

Acne might also seem to occur when the hair follicles on the skin are plugged with dirt and dust from the environment. The hitch is that these follicles are treated to the sebaceous gland. This is the gland responsible for the secretion of moisture in terms of lubricating oils in the body. When there is an overflow of these oils, they start to form sections, which start looking like ugly pimples, and mar one’s beauty. Some pimples might even be hereditary and might pass on from generations, because of the sort of prone and oily skin that some people have.

Hormonal imbalances in the body, during the onset of puberty, are also one of the main reasons for acne. This is why most people suffer from these pus pebbles in their teenage and early youth. When one develops into a full adult, these eventually go away.

One of the major myths about pimples is that dirty skin is the reason for pimples. It is actually when one sometimes tends to overdo the exfoliation of the skin, that the skin becomes worse. The pimples form and aggravate further. It is sometimes worth to let the skin just be! Trying too many creams and soaps and bleaching will cause irritation and inflammation on the skin, which will come out in the form of pimples.

When the already inflamed skin is touched and fidgeted with too much, it shall further aggravate the problem and tend to give on even more serve sort of pimples. The ground rule should be to touch the infected area the minimum

Another very important reason for pimples is what one eats. The face is the mirror of the body, and if one eats too much oily, fatty or heat giving food, it will surely show on the face. Pimples will spring up if one has had too much vodka in the summer months, or had too much pizza or chocolate cakes.

It is therefore essential to maintain a healthy balance of food exercise and a sound sleep to keep the skin healthy, glowing and pimple free. So keep note of all these little pointers and help your skin be healthy and beautiful, without spending oodles of money on facial treatments. Beauty will shine from within if the problem is cleared from the root.

Home Remedies for Acne

Adolescence can bring upon a number of changes in the human body, and one such main change is the onset of pimples. They are like a perpetual curse that has been in the world since ever. Acne is a result of hormones going haywire in the teens. But come to think of it, there isn’t really an age for pimples; they can occur at any given phase in life, adults suffer from pimples too.

Not to mention the perfectly hideous quality of these obnoxious pus monsters to pop up at the most important events in life like the prom, or a wedding or a date with a cute guy. They have this tendency of ruining the most blissful and perfect moments in life.

Help needs to be sought for it and one doesn’t need to be all that low and crestfallen about pimples, they can be tamed. What is interesting is that this help is actually all around you. All you need to do is enter the kitchen and look for some basic detoxifiers, in their natural forms and Voila! You’ll get that spotless clear skin you’ve always dreamt of.

You are just a few steps away from discovering the eternal joy of clear skin. It shall bring confidence and happiness back to your life. Listed below are the few basic home remedies for curing acne

The Fruity Wonder

Oranges are good for the skin, be it the fruit or the mere skin. The orange peel, dried and powdered, or simply crushed in its fresh form, mixed with a little water and applied on the skin can work miracles for the skin. Allow it to dry for a while and repeat for a week, and you’ll start to see a visibly clear skin together with that beautiful peachy glow on the face.

Fruits in general are great for clearing the skin and giving it a beautiful youthful glow. One can indulge in the day to day habit of rubbing fruits like papaya and apple onto the skin; they will nourish the skin, make it healthy, and prevent pimples.

The Citric Effect

<script type="text/javascript"

Lemon juice is also a great way to work off acne problems. Lemon juice applied to the skin with equal amounts of water mixed to it shall tend to have an immense cleaning effect on the skin. It will clear the skin of pimples over a period of time and one would glow with that perfect fresh lemon effect.

From The Spice Jar

Fenugreek is another wonder worker for the acne trouble that seems to grip almost everyone in the world, at some point of time or the other. A paste made from the leaves can be applied as a night mask. Sleeping with it on will mean it has time to repair and replenish the skin all night. It shall prove to have wondrous effects when washed with warm water in the morning. Not only the skin would be visibly clear in a matter of a few days, but also one would feel taut and fresh in the skin.

Fresh as a Cucumber

For an instant cooling relief when the pimples seem to be really inflaming the skin and forming pathetic red blotches on the skin, you can use freshly grated cucumber on the skin. It is best when use in the summers, when the excess heat and humidity causes the skin t become oily and acne prone. 15-20 minutes per is nothing too much if you want a sparkling clean skin. This can intact be incorporated in the daily beauty regime. It helps in treating blackheads as well as cooling off the skin and tightening the skin pores, which will prevent the horrible acne from reoccurring.

The Pot of beauty

Some other excellent remedies for clearing the skin of acne are by using garlic on the effected areas. It sure a bit sounds eerie, but what wouldn’t you try for the best skin? Running fresh garlic onto the skin and even eating about three seeds of the same one a day would tend to give one a naturally clear skin, working from outside and within.

Drinking bitter gourd juice will also help in preventing the sulking pimples which just don’t want to leave you. A paste made from mint and coriander juice, together with a bit of turmeric powder in it applied on the affected areas will help the skin in healing the natural way. It will even prevent the terrible scarring that tends to occur when one is dealing with really gruesome forms of pimples.

Now, it’s obvious that hormonal changes are responsible for pimples, but there are a number of other reasons for them also. One’s beauty regime or simply the basic cleanliness habits might also affect the state of one’s skin. Here are some handy dandy tips to avoid the pimples from occurring.

Don’t Touch Your Face Too Much

Sometimes pimples are aggravated and pronounced further simply because one can’t stop fidgeting with the pus bulb. No matter how irritating and ugly they are; one needs to learn to refrain from touching pimples too much. The infection and dirt from hands and fingernails tends to set deep within the skin and give rise to these pimples, keeping the timing perfect with important days in your life.

The Beauty Health Regime

Maintaining a good cleansing toning and moisturizing regime for the skin will definitely help in preventing breakouts and keeping the skin health and glowing all day long.

Keeping hands clean and being cautious while shaving is important for men, otherwise they need to be prepared to treat the ugly imperfections.

The Right Cosmetics

The need for choosing the right sort of cosmetics just cannot be stressed upon enough. Men and women both need to understand their skin types well and use products accordingly. If one suffers from pimples very often it means they have oily skin type, and they need to choose their beauty fixers well, so that they maintain a beautiful and healthy looking skin.

Earaches are some of the most horrible sort of aches in the body. The worst part is that it is on the inside of the ear, and one can’t even put any sort of sprays of ointment gels for relief. All one can do is toss and turn in pain and wait for the doctor’s appointment. This makes it all the more essential to understand that these aches can be avoided.

One needs to understand that earaches can be avoided and one can actually steer clear from having to put so many different types of ear drops that almost want to make you puke. Prevention obviously is better than cure and ears aches are totally preventable. There are a few basic health and wellness steps that one needs to follow, to ensure the best health of the ears.

Common Reasons for Earaches

One of the most prevalent and common reason for aching ears is the developing of earwax or plug in the ears. This tends to block the passage of air in the ear, and turns infections and the ear aches. Another reason for aching ears is due to the infection developed on the outer layer of the ear drum. This will tend to give one nasty ear aches. The developing of a fluid inside the ear also might be one reason for ear aches.

The ENT of the body is connected to each other. This means that if either of the nose or throat is affected by any sort of infection, it might have a consecutive effect on the ears as well. So tonsillitis or a common cold might well be a reason for an ear ache.

It is essential to note that children are the ones mostly suffering from ear aches. This is potentially due to their tendency to be careless about their hygiene habits. Parents need to make it a point to clean the tender ears of their children regularly so that they is no sort of wax or dirt deposit, which later turns into an infection and gives aches in the ears.

Another cause for ear aches is when one tries to clean them too much! This might well sound strange, but the fact is that when the cotton buds or sticks are pushed too hard in the ear, it might pose a risk of damaging the inner soft layer of the ear, ad this might cause aching ears, they might even bleed in severe cases.

<script type="text/javascript"

General health and hygiene shouldn’t ever be ignored and one needs to take real good care of the ears with effectively cleaning them regularly, and cleaning them on a daily basis while taking a bath. These causes of ear aches are very common and one should mostly be able to treat them with home remedies. However if things seem to worsen, the GP should be seen. One shouldn’t take any chances with the heath of any part of the body, and ears should be paid a little more attention to.

Home Remedies for Earache

Ears are one of the most neglected parts of the body. One doesn’t pay special attention to these ever. Not while bathing, not while having a facial treatment and not even while doing makeup. These are just ignored and left to be! But they do get all the attention they vie for, when they break out with an ache!

Earaches are one of the nastiest forms of ache and one is left in seething pain, sometimes in the middle of the night and no doctors available. This is when one can make use of some of the best time tested medications for ear aches. The best part is that these medicines are present at home itself. One wouldn’t have to run to an emergency drug store in their night robes to get them; the trip is just till the kitchen.

Firstly and most importantly, earaches most commonly occur due to dirt in them. One needs to clean the ears, but with herbal remedies. Comfrey leaves are a great option for the same, Hazel and comfrey leaves when simpered in water and used over a cotton bud for moistening the ear, is an ideal remedy. One should be careful not to push around in the infected ear too hard. This is essential because pushing hard might make the dirt go further down and also mean potential damage harm to the ear.

Another good remedy for the infected and achy ear is to use steam method for the same. This would include having steam through a neti pot, using warm water. This basically will relive the sinus system, and help the collected wax and dirt and grime to clean up, and consequently give respite from the achy ear. This will surely help in providing respite from the aching ear.

Another efficient remedy for help the achy ear is to use drops of garlic oil. Live oil mixed with garlic essence and a few crushed cloves added to the concoction which is simmering in a water pit, for about half an hour, will do good. This will help in providing respite from the seething pain in the ear, and can be used a couple of times in a day. The best thing about these remedies is that they can be found at home and one wouldn’t even have the risk of any sort o side effects from them. What is more the nasty eardrops tend to leave a horrible feeling down the throat, and this wouldn’t be the case with these natural ear cleansers.

Another very weird sounding solution to an ear ache is standing on one’s head. This means standing upside won, maybe against a wall, on the head. This will help in facilitating good flow in the Eustachian tubes and help one in getting respite from the aching ear.

When nothing else seems to work and you feel dizzy with the terrible ear ache, opt for a hot bath. This will streamline the entire body towards health and wellness. The ear will surely feel better by the end of the bath.

We all aspire to get a healthy body and a dream muscle tone, but not all of us are blessed with it.

Though there are endless reasons which can be related to a not-so-good physique and a weak immune system, there’s no point giving it a second thought that the metabolism of human body, the manner in which it process food and regulates a variety of bodily heat (Agni in Ayurveda), is highly responsible for the issue.

We all drop our jaws seeing things like hot and spicy soup, chocolate-almond ice cream cone, and all but having a craving is one thing, having the liberty of going for such foods, the other.

In this fast-placed life, digestive problems are nothing supernatural for almost all of us.

Importance of Maintaining Good Digestive System

When the food you intake is not flowing properly down towards your body, it’s gets a battle for you to relish a sweet delicacy or a spicy snack as you are around-the-clock worried regarding aching repercussions which may flow your way.

Maintaining a sound digestive system is indeed the key to sound health and longevity which, nowadays, sounds more like a tough ask as our digestive system is frequently shelled over by a variety of modern-day issues, including the likes of heartburn, gastritis, Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and the Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which are mainly caused by a lack of care on what you eat, habit of eating junk food, eating quickly, drinking caffeinated products, beverages, alcohol and smoking.

Eating properly is by-far a different thing altogether, as even thinking about food grows a nightmare when you are experiencing a stomach upset or other digestion-related problems that go on to throw a variety of painful and growling symptoms such as flatulence, bloating, burps, abdominal cramps, headache, chest pain, lack of concentration, and many more.

So, it’s goes very important for us to heed these signs before they grow demonic enough to disturb our peace of life. Here’re some vital bites on what all can be done in order to make sure you avoid such problems by the means of following simple dietary regimen and exercise measures.

HeatBurn

Heartburn, the first and the preliminary reaction of an angry digestive system, is a sort of chilled pain experienced all the way from the throat region to the chest. One of the most prominent reasons behind heartburn is the acid reflux, which can be described as a condition in which the stomach tends to reflect irritating acids upwards to the oesophagus.

Tips to Prevent Heartburn

Break you meals go for six small meals a day. No matter what the format of your food is, avoid overeating as it generally tends to result in causing heartburn. Also, chewing food well is very important.

Make sure you follow a healthier approach while cooking. Grilling, stir frying and baking methods must be preferred as they are comparatively healthier that the rest. Shallow frying or deep frying of food basically leads to discomfort.

Avoid spicy, vinegary and citrusy foods if you are dealing constantly with heartburn, or use them along a good amount of other acidic foods like meat and vegetables.

Avoid smoking, drinking caffeinated products and binge drinking can be easily associated with heartburn-related issues. Limit your alcohol consumption and re-hydrate frequently whenever you drink.

There are a plenty of over-the-counter medicines available for heartburn which are basically meant for supplying MPS, magnesium and simithicone, which strengthen your metabolism and give you relief from trapped wind, bloating, and other common signs of digestion-related problems. Other than that, Proton Pump Inhibitors like Omeprazol can be used to cut down the liberation of extra acid in your stomach.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a condition of irregular bowel movements wherein one might experience intense abdominal cramps and pains ranging from the region of throat to heart and the entire life side of the cheat. In extreme cases, it may result in constipation or diarrhoea. IBS is also associated with stress and is very vital to note that stress must be kept at bay to achieve a sound digestive system. Taking Activated Charcoal and Tri-cyclic Anti-depressants (only on the prescription of your doctor) can help ease out IBS, though no sure-shot solution to IBS is there in medical science as of now.

Tips to Prevent Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Just like those for heart burn, IBS can also be prevented by avoiding alcohol, smoking, over eating, howling down food quickly, insufficient water intake, coffee and all. Certain foods which irritate bowel movement, such as cabbage, milk, barley, wheat and bean, must be avoided.

The intake of dietary fibres can help in both diarrhoea and constipation-predominant IBS.

To combat stress, exercise more frequently. Exercise strengthens your immune system along with increasing the efficiency of metabolism.

Most of all, consult your doctors if you are experiencing the symptoms mentioned above, plus neck and back pain, sweating, dizziness, shortness of breath, nausea, etc., for quite some time as the issue might be a bit more than just IBS.

Mint

Mint is said to be a very good remedy for upset stomach and other associated signs like vomiting, nausea, excess gas, acid indigestion and bloating. You can get dried mint from health food stores in loose form or go for available tea bags. Keep them in a cool, secure and dark cupboard and enjoy a cup of mint tea often to keep your digestive system up and running at its best.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is a naturally safe acid which works mildly and offers great helps in creating an alkaline-forming situation in the stomach. It proves of great essence when used for acid reflux or other digestive disorders It is capable of stimulating the stomach for the production of more digestive enzymes, such as bicarbonates and magnesium, which then tends to neutralizes the effect and severity of stomach acid. It positively alters the pH of the acid in the stomach.

Ginger

Ginger, when taken on a regular basis, can really catch the bull of digestive disorders by its horns. Used as a common spice, ginger is a highly effective treatment of vomiting, nausea, stomach fullness as well as gallbladder attacks.

In severe cases swallowing difficulties occur. A strong immune system plays a vital role in preventing thrush. The infants and elderly suffer from this oral infection due to their weak immune systems.

Effective home remedies to ease the inconvenience of Thrush

Develop Oral hygiene

Brush your teeth twice a day. Include flossing once in your daily routine to eliminate the chances of this oral infection. Frequently change your toothbrush as long as you suffer from thrush. Do not use a mouthwash since the ingredients of the mouth wash eliminate flora normally present in the mouth.

Simple Home treatment for Oral Thrush

Make a mixture of tincture consisting of equal quantity of myrrh, Echinacea and licorice. Use a teaspoon of the mixture with water as a mouthwash. This remedy should be repeated after every four hours or at least thrice a day.

Rinsing with salt water

Put a pinch of table salt in a small cup of luke warm water. swish and rinse the salted water in your mouth for one minute and spit out.

Make use of Anti-Fungal Mouthwashes

Yogurt

Include yogurt into your diet to increase the healthy bacteria in the mouth. A good helping of yogurt boosts your immune system and eliminates the chances of thrush. Do not eat or drink anything immediately after taking yogurt so that the bacteria get some time to act in the mouth.

Take care while feeding

Mothers can pass thrush to their infants through breastfeeding. Mothers should use nystatin to clean their nipples. Mothers and babies can easily pass the yeast infection to each other. It is advisable to dry your nipples thoroughly after breast feeding and then apply some lanolin lotion.

Nursing Pads

This fungal infection can spread on the shirt of the breastfeeding mothers. Use disinfected nursing pads which are without plastic to prevent the occurrence of Candida.

Methodical Cleaning

Wearing dentures requires meticulous cleaning of the dentures and your mouth every night. Also soak your dentures overnight in a cleaner. Rinse them properly with water as you remove them from the solution.

Systematic care of the Bottle and Nipple

Combat thrush by boiling the bottle and nipple and the pacifiers regularly at least thrice a day.

You should repeat this process with your face, mouth lower and upper arms, neck, shoulders, chest, stomach, legs, back, or anywhere else where the tension exists. Take thirty seconds break and then start with the next muscle group. Try to practice this relaxing technique for nearly twenty minutes in order to manage anxiety.

You should develop a fixed sleeping time routine. Sleeping and waking at the same time each day induces sound sleep. Also take care to avoid exercise at least three hours before bedtime. Use of caffeine, alcohol and sleeping pills should be avoided. If worries, nag and pressurize your mind try writing them on a paper so that you can deal with them later and then get some sleep.

Worrying is a compulsive habit. This dangerous habit creates anxiety. Learn to scan your thoughts carefully and distance yourself mentally from the anxious thoughts Develop awareness regarding your anxious temperament. Control your wayward thoughts and do not let them trap you. Recognize that a thought is completely different from reality.

Back pain (also known as dorsalgia) is referred to the pain felt in the back mostly originating from the muscles, nerves, bones, joints or other structures in the spine. About nine out of ten adults experience back pain at some point in their life, and five out of ten working adults have back pain every year. Back pain is one of humanity’s most frequent complaints. It is one of those pains that can make you give up and bow to the life. This article will deal with the fifteen most effective remedies for back pain. Let’s discuss all of them one by one:

Acupuncture

A recent research conducted by Sheffield University, United Kingdom, analyzed long-term symptom reduction and economic benefits of acupuncture in patients suffering from persistent low back pain. During the research, 159 people were given an average of 8 acupuncture treatments while 80 people received normal care. After a span of one year, people who had undergone acupuncture sessions had reported a significant reduction in their pain compared to the ones who had received usual care. Scientific backing for the result is that the therapy releases natural pain-relieving opioids that in turn send signals that calm the sympathetic nervous system, and releases neuro-chemicals and hormones.

Capsaicin Cream

Not many are aware of capsaicin cream and its benefits. You might have never heard about it but if you’ve ever eaten a chili pepper and felt your mouth burn, you know exactly what capsaicin does. Capsaicin is the active ingredient in chili peppers. After capsaicin is applied to the skin, it causes an analgesic effect that gives sudden relief from the pain.

Vitamin D Deficiency

Any chronic muscle pain can be a result of vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D is found in fish with small bones, fortified milk and cereal, and exposure to sunlight. A recent research by University of Minnesota claimed that 93 per cent of the patients suffering from chronic musculoskeletal pain had deficient Vitamin D.

Music Therapy

Music therapy is believed to reduce disability, anxiety, and depression associated with chronic pain. A recent study evaluated the influence of music therapy in hospitalized patients with chronic back pain. The results showed that music therapy reduced disability, anxiety, and depression significantly.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 has been found to relieve low back pain. Other than pain, symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency include numbness and tingling, irritability, mild memory impairment, and depression.

Magnesium

The fourth most abundant mineral in human body, magnesium is involved in more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body. It helps in normal muscle and nerve function, keeps the heart rhythm steady, supports a healthy immune system and also keeps bones strong. Increased intracellular magnesium levels have proved to reduce pain symptoms in 88 per cent of the people, a German study claims.

Willow Bark

The bark of the white willow tree (Salix alba) has pain-relieving properties similar to aspirin because of its ingredient salicin, which gets converted into salicylic acid (aspirin is also converted to salicylic acid once in the body). Salicylic acid is believed to be the active compound that relieves pain and inflammation. Plenty of studies back this belief.

Yoga for Back Pain

<script type="text/javascript"

Yoga is believed to have the cure for even the weirdest of diseases. Yoga creates balance in the body through various poses that develop flexibility and strength. Even doctors advise that practicing yoga regularly results in significant reduction in pain intensity, disability, and reliance on pain medication in the yoga group.

Bowen Therapy

Widely used in Australia and Europe, it is gentle bodywork that was developed in Australia by osteopath Tom Bowen. Bowen therapists use a series of specialized moves with their fingers and thumb that generally involve pulling the skin slack away from the muscle, applying pressure, and then quickly releasing the tension. These moves are performed at areas of muscles with special receptors. As a result, nerve impulses are sent to brain that result in muscle relaxation and reduction of pain.

Breathing Techniques

Simple breathing techniques are among those that can be done without any outside help. They have proven to be very effective at reducing pain, especially those techniques that make use of the mind-body bridge.

Massage Therapy

First thing that comes to anybody’s mind when we think of pain is massage. It has kind of become a synonym for pain. Studies have backed the fact that massage can be very effective for sub acute and chronic pain. Massage therapy is the most popular therapy for low back pain, especially during pregnancy.

Chiropractic

It is a method of treatment that manipulates body structures (especially the spine) to relieve low back pain or even headache or high blood pressure. Back pain is one of most common reasons people see a chiropractor. Manipulation is believed to relieve pain and muscle tightness and encourage healing.

Alexander Technique

This technique focuses on body posture and elimination of bad habits such as slouching that leads to pain, muscle tension and decreased mobility. This technique was created by Frederick Matthias Alexander, an Australian actor.

Prolotherapy

Prolotherapy deals with the cure of affected or damaged ligaments (bands of connective tissue that help keep bones attached to each other) to relieve chronic musculoskeletal pain. Tendons and ligaments in human back often do not heal completely after injury. Bones of the spine become less stable, which can lead to chronic pain. In this therapy, an injection of a liquid solution is inserted into soft tissues such as ligaments and tendons. This triggers local inflammation and triggers the body’s natural healing response which repairs the weakened soft tissues and relieves pain. Prolotherapy is one of those rare therapies that address the root cause of the problem and not the base.

Balneotherapy

One of the oldest therapies for pain relief, Balneotherapy is carved out of word “balneo” that comes from the Latin word, balneum, meaning bath. It is a hydro therapy that involves taking bath in mineral water or warm water. A comparison was made involving 60 people on taking a bath with normal and mineral water. The results showed that mineral water that contains sulphur was superior in reducing pain and improving mobility in comparison to tap water.

We sincerely hope that these 15 effective remedies would help you in one way or the other to relieve your back pain.

What can cause burns?

Three degrees of burns which a person can get

First-degree burns: These are very painful. The burnt gets a little swelling. The burns turn white in color when you press on your skin. The skin on the burnt area may get peeled off after a span of one or two days.

Second-degree burns: These burns are thicker than first degree burns and are generally more painful. Blisters are produced on the skin due to second degree burns. The skin gets very splotchy or red. Swelling might also appear on the skin.

Third-degree burns: In such burns damage is caused to all underlying layers of the skin. The burnt skin looks totally charred. There is hardly any pain in case of third degree burns because the nerves as well as tissue of the skin get totally damaged.

How long does it take for burns to heal?

First-degree burns usually heal in 3 to 6 days.

Third-degree burns usually take a very long time to heal.

How are burns treated?

Home Remedies for Burns

Burns cause a great degree of discomfort and pain. First degree burns accruing from normal household activities cause surface injury and inflammation of the skin. It is utmost necessary that you have sufficient knowledge regarding the first hand treatment for minor burns with simple and instantly available home remedies for quick relief. These burns undoubtedly cause pain but instant application of simple home remedies offer considerable relief and also prevent or minimize scars.

Immediately pour some cold water over the burned area. Cold water is actually more effective than ice water since it can restrict the flow of blood to the burned area thus causing tissue damage

Rubbing fresh aloe Vera gel on your burn instantly reduces pain and swelling. When the burn begins to heal, open a vitamin E capsule and rub on the tender skin. This miraculously accelerates the healing process.

Coating or immersing the burned area with egg whites minimizes the pain. As long as it is wet you will not feel the pain of the burn. But when dry, the pain returns, so you have to reapply fresh egg whites.

Onion juice is another instant remedy for burns which is freely available in every kitchen.

Honey works as a useful balm for healing and disinfecting the burns. It is very effective in drawing out fluid from the burned tissue, and cleaning the wound.

The juice of crushed banana leaves has mild anti microbial agent properties, which applied on the burn reduces inflammation and haemorrhage.

The vinegar acts as an astringent and antiseptic for burns. Dilute it with water and apply gently in the wound. Create a rinse solution by dilution with water.

As the burn begins to heal, it starts getting a little itchy. The best way to relieve the itching is to liberally apply oatmeal on the affected area. Add one cup of uncooked oatmeal to tepid water. Soak for 20 minutes to relieve the pain and inflammation.

The tannic acid in black tea absorbs heat from the burn and reduces the intense searing pain of the burn. Take two bags and soak in a bowl with cold water and then apply the liquid on the wound.

Milk is also an effective compress for minor burns. Soak the burned area in milk for fifteen minutes or apply a milk-soaked washcloth to the area. The fat content of milk soothes burns and promotes healing. Rinse the affected skin and the washcloth in cool water afterwards otherwise the milk will smell.

A clean burn is a faster-healing burn. Every day wash the area gently with soap and water and apply mild Betadine solution daily to reduce the risk of infection.

If available you can also immediately apply lavender oil directly on the burned skin. The analgesic properties of lavender, promotes healing and minimizes the chance of scarring.

First- and second-degree burns when treated with home remedies give respite from burns and blisters. But severe burns require emergency medical attention.
