The best time to perform this pranayama is early morning that too on an empty stomach. The person performing the pranayama should ensure that they have not consumed anything. But if early morning is a problem, a person can perform Kapalbhati 3-4 hours after consuming meal. While performing Kapalbhati, a person should sit in a posture known as Sukhasana or Padmasana and should breathe in gently, while exhale with all they have. The procedure allows aeration to blood circulation. The aasana can be performed even by those who are handicapped: by sitting in a straight posture and keeping the spine straight. The person performing the aasana should ensure that they breathe heavily and keep their spine straight, so that the pranayama is the most effective.
Time Requirement
This pranayam is sufficient for a person’s health if performed for 15 minutes. Still, for someone suffering from a condition like cancer or diabetes, the duration should be longer. Apart from diabetes and cancer patients, this pranayama is beneficial for people suffering from a heart disease as well. The best duration to perform this pranayama for sick people is a minimum of 30-minutes in a day.
